See its the good oil, alpacas really do make dreams come true.

For a large part of Jeanette's life she has been involved in Motorsport in one form or another.  To be able to actually now own a small stable of historic racecars has placed her firmly in "hogs heaven".

The photo above shows Kenilworth Park's debut at the Wangaratta Speedway Classic Meeting in October, 2005.  The car is a 1940 Ford V860 powered midget, originally built in the USA  where it ran until being sold to a New Zealand owner around 1949.

Although some sixty-five years old the car is still a delight to drive, and the beautiful V8 sound is quite distinctive amongst the Offy's, Holden sixes and various four cylinder engines which power the majority of the midget fields in Vintage Speedway.  (Our thanks to the late Neil Izzard for the photo)

Think pitstops and visions of frantic crew scurrying round, changing tyres, refuelling with the scream of rattle guns in your ears....Think again.

Vintage Motorsport lacks the hype and intensity of its serious modern counterpart, and as you can see life for the vintage pit crew is, on the whole, a little more relaxed.

The only frantic activity Keith indulges in is the setting up of the table, with a platter of cheese and biccies.  Tea anyone!

Waiting to be towed out to the circuit.

So why get involved in Vintage Motorsport?

Principally for much the same reasons people become involved in the modern sport.  Its fun, with a bit of excitement thrown in, and a chance to promote your business in areas you wouldn't normally get to; plus you meet lots of nice people along the way.

For those, with a sense of history, there is also a feeling of preserving something of the (admittedly recent) past.

Introducing the latest addition to our stable of historic racing cars; this one being an Historic Formula Ford, a 1981 D.A.W.

Powered by the Ford four cylinder "Kent" engine, this formula has been the breeding ground  for many of the sports top echelon of drivers.  Many past and current F1 superstars, as well as Australian V8 Supercar drivers began their careers in this venerable formulae.
