DNA Testing Program
Hopefully longer term research will be able to identify gene types, including both those which produce desirable characteristics as well as those which result in breeding programs going down undesirable paths. Obviously this is a very exciting path to pursue and one which, ultimately, should see dramatic improvements in the standard of animals produced in this country. The photo (above left) shows the non-invasive collection method developed and tested at Kenilworth Park. This method is far less distressing to the animals (and the operator) than the old blood collection method. Success at Whittlesea Show Kenilworth Park Gyspy Moth (daughter of Amy Johnson!) took out both its Class and Best Suri Fleece at the November Whittlesea Show. Whilst KP Marengo and KP Ceberus followed it up with Reserve Champion
awards in their age groups with Ceberus taking out the overall Reserve
Champion Suri award.
Kenilworth Park Supporting Historic
Motorsport
Here Jeanette is all strapped in and ready for the first run of the evening. We had to go to considerable trouble to find a car older than the driver ! more: "DP" Comes to Kenilworth Park. In line with our policy of using only proven male sires, who are homozygous to type, we are very excited to announce the arrival of Australian Champion Suri (1998) Cedar House Desert Prince at Kenilworth Park. We first saw Desert Prince at Pinjarra prior to the 1998 National
Show, and I still have the photos which show the
beautifully pencilled young macho. His then owner Sandi Keane was
bursting with pride in her boy, who went on to amply justify her
considerable faith in him at the Nationals.
